29th September - In a recent survey of European refereeing quality, Scotland managed to come out bottom. The same survey concluded that if the moon was a balloon, Mr. D. McDonald of Edinburgh would be bigger than it. His display in the match against Dundee United last week was so bad that many people reckoned he only got the start of each half right and all else was failure and blunder after cock-up. After the match, the refereeing supervisor, instead of admonishing the incompetent whistler was heard to sympathise with the duffer and tell him it must have been a difficult match to handle. How will we ever get decent referees if the supervisors take that kind of line? After such a weak demonstration of the art, there should have been blood on the walls as the supervisor tore the guy and his worthless assistants apart.
27th September - Call me irresponsible, but this correspondent is feeling strangely optimistic about Sunday's match at Pittodrie. There isn't much to justify this as the Tims have a superb record so far this season and had no difficulties in seeing us off last season. even so I have a good feeling and demand to be allowed to indulge it. The young Dandies are not bothered by mere reputations, they have made that clear already this season and if they keep that up and Eoin Jess carries on his good early form there's no reason why we shouldn't make a match of it. One thing's sure, the Beach End won't be found wanting in the atmospheric stakes and will back the Redz to the hilt. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, let's have a right go and see these Glasgow greeners off and show the nation that Aberdeen are on the way back. 27th September - Don't be fooled by the growing cascade of trialist whizzing through Pittodrie these days, it is not a sign that the purse strings are loosening. We are talking possible short-term contracts here. On top of that, the odds of Ebbe coming up with a real star are kind of slim. He is having to work pretty blind on these guys and the majority probably won't come up to his expectations. Still worth taking a look though.

22nd September - So it's off to 'Bonnie Dundee' tomorrow to face Smiffy's scrappy bunch of bunnets. After our record setting exploits of last season, this is a dangerous trip for us. United have yet to win a league game this season and last campaign we would certainly have been the boys to let them change that. Hopefully this time we can prevent "Ruthless Smith" (from Evening Express headline) doing the biz. The last thing we need is him doing a reprise of why Aberdeen should never have sacked him. The problem won't so much be letting goals in at our end but finding a supply of them at their end.

Maybe Eoin Jess will come up trumps and take himself another strike or two closer to his 100th competitive goal for the Dons. He should get there this season if he keeps fit and playing and if he does it will put him in a very exclusive club because only nine other Dandies have managed it. Go for it Eoin!

20th September - The Evening Express seems to have given its hacks the task of defending Stewart Milne against the rising and entirely justifiable criticism of his stewardship of AFC. Tonight they even have David Murray telling us to lay off him and how eventually we will get into a European league. All we have to do is stick with Wiggy. Well, it's a shame that the EE doesn't invite Milne to answer the charges of failure leveled against him instead of quoting the gum flappings of the leader of our deadliest rivals. If Milne was half the businessman that David Murray is we would be in a very different financial position to the one we find ourselves so maybe the EE has inadvertently done us all a favour by reminding us of the fact. 16th September - Our record at Kilmarnock stinks, let's hope that the Dandies pull a few surprises out of the bag and change that today. Currently we are hiding behind a veneer of improvement thanks to the emergence of some fine young players (would they have been recruited during Wilie Miller's regime?). That is fine as far as it goes, but are we really reduced to being happy with 9th place in the League? Don't forget that we have slid down to that lowly status. It staggers TRF that our fellow fans are allowing Stewart Milne to get away with his 'leading' our club nowhere. He has made blunder after blunder and is now stone walling on signing new and fixing up existing players. Just what is he playing at? Equally amazing is that the rest of the directors in Pittodrie's ivory tower of a boardroom are standing by and letting the club go to rat shit too. Does the future really depend on those few kids carrying us through the entire season unaided?

13th September - NEWS FLASH!

Beleaguered Labour chief Tony Blair tonight called on beleaguered Aberdeen FC chief Stewart Milne to address the nation as the fuel crisis deepens. In a prepared address to the nation, Milne said: "People have to be patient. We are aware that feelings are running high, and that fuel fans are frustrated by the lack of tankers arriving at the forecourts. But the fans have to understand that there aren't any tankers waiting in the wings to bring fresh fuel to the club.
"However, we are scouring Europe on a daily basis to find new fuel. We spent more on fuel last season than any other club outwith the Old Firm, and progress is being made. We are still looking to bring in three tankers in the near future to strengthen the side. Stick with us, and we'll give you fuel that you can be proud of."

10th September - St. Johnstone's griping about the refereeing of yesterday's match beggars belief. Sandy Clark has build a team of niggling yobs who will stop at nothing to throw their opponents off their game. If there was anything wrong with the refereeing it was that the officials let our visitors get away with a damn sight too much. The list of assaults is too long to list here, but the ref should also have been adding names to the book for the blatant time wasting that went on. let's hope that this kind of play earns its own reward and the Saints spend the season flirting with relegation.
7th September - The young Dons were dignified in defeat last night but if they had been given more experienced players to back them up, you never know, they might have actually won. That lack of player signings in the summer is coming home to roost.

On Saturday they should be looking to turn over St. Johnstone and Ebbe Skovdahl should have more options for the team he fields. TRF bets there will be no shortage of entertainment from our lads but worries that the cynical approach more experienced sides adopt will cost us. Let's hope not. By the way, don't forget that Sandy Clark, with his accusations of diving and playacting, was the man who managed to ensure that Zero gets no protection from referees so he deserves to get the bird this weekend.
1st September - Funny, only on Wednesday the Evening Express is demanding "Give Stewart a Break" and the next day our "hard working" chairman is away in New York. Expect the fabric of AFC to start crumbling almost instantly.
