Sunday 29th August - We won't bother asking forgiveness form anybody for being a wee bit pleased about the Dandies having earned their way to second place in the SPL for the first time in a donkey's age. Who knows if it'll last, but it's a great feeling to be turning over teams that we always SHOULD have been. There's a long haul ahead and the playing squad isn't that deep, but you never know we might keep clear of serious injury problems, the tims always seem to manage that so why can't we? One thing is certain, nobody's going to knock the Redz about, Livingston tried that on Saturday and only helped to get the Dandies and the Red Army fired up and ensured that there would only be one winner.

It's a shame we have to lose the momentum because of the enforced international break, but at least we'll be able to get more players fit before we head for Tannalice to take on the obnoxious arabs and their odious manager whatsisname. Stuffing the arabs would be every bit as satisfying as beating either of the gruesome twosome any day of the week, anything to see the jutes take a backward step.

By the way, Shepherd Spy spotted Erchie McPhartson going round Pittodrie after the game and he looked absolutely gutted to have witnessed a the Redz pulling off such a convincing victory. So they are doing more than one thing right.
Monday 23rd August - Hurrah! Hooray! Yowsah! Yippee! The Dandies have gone three games undefeated in this brand spanking new season and have stuck 5 points on the board for a loss of absolutely no goals but with 1 to their credit. It's a solid but unglamorous start to the season, but after so many seasons of toiling from the off it makes a very pleasant change to be feeling so positive. Now the big test comes - will they get a reward by a decent number of fans turning up for the game against Berwick Rangers? It's fantastic to see so many of the Red Army marching on Tyncattle and Yeast End Park, but that butters no parsnips in the AFC (uncooked) books. The best possible way to help the Redz along is to cough up some of the hard-earned at Pittodrie.

While we're at it, let's not allow the slightest wee bit of complacency creep in because we've got a long season ahead and the momentum needs to be kept going against Berwick (a chance to score a few goals?) and then onwards to the Livvy visit. As usual, these visitors will bring next to no fans of their own (at least Berwick have a bit of an excuse) so it'll be up to us to generate the atmosphere and keep the Dandies on the go. The surge of optimism and spirit that has rolled around the ranks is justified but don't ever let the guard down (or the crash helmets if there are any more paper rolls flying about). This has the potential to be a fun season. Let's get on with it!
Thursday 12th August - Well, here we are back again for another season! Bet you thought we'd folded this website altogether, but the truth is that most TRFers are incredibly lazy so we jist hinna been dein it.

It's been some closed season, with a top new management team taking the fitba helm at Pittodrie and Willie Miller joining the board along with a couple of men in suits. No bad thing though, it really looks like we are going to get more out of the under achievers and the new signings are bringing steel to the side. Not that you'd know that if you'd watched Scotsport on Monday night. What a biased load of piffle presented in an utterly amateurish way by a programme that is just as poornow as it was when it last failed to give a balanced coverage to the SPL. Archie McPhartson? Nae wonder the BBC ditched him, his orange tinted glasses were probably causing accidents in the corridors of power.

Not that the Beeb should get off without a slagging, seeing as how they have failed the footballing public (picence payers one and all - more or less) by refusing to put even a small percentage of the investment into Scottish football that they are into the English game. Do we nae merit a bit more respect fae the folk that manage in Glasgow? Or are all the decisions being made back in London? We ought to be told.

Anyhow, we can all feel a bit happier with the Dandies right now for the effort and commitment they showd v the filthy hun and it doesn't look like anybody's going to shove them around in a hurry any more. Now, onward to Tynecattle and another bruising contest where the Red Army will back the Redz to the hilt.
