Cup Final 2000 - A short few notes.

The Dons may have lost two cup finals recently but there can be no argument that their fans won the terraces of Hampden Park. The atmosphere, the sheer wall of sound put out by the embattled Red Army was a joy to hear and be part of. Old Farm fans are space wasting extras at big games these days and really don't deserve their unfair over allocation of tickets. As for the SFA, they really can't organise a piss-up in a brewery and certainly have no idea of how to provide a neutral venue for what should be Scotland's showcase games. It is time that the fans of every Scottish club outside of Glasgow banded together to demand that our game be run for the benefit of all and not the two fat-cat clubs inhabiting the less salubrious corners of Glasgow.

Believe it or not, the TRF view is that the Dandies lost the final when Russell Anderson went off injured. Not that the devastating injury to Jimbo wasn't crucial too, but the team actuall went on to play pretty well after that. In fact, other than going comepletely dozy for the goal, even the defence had looked like they'd be taking care of business in front of Robbie winters.
Nope, it was when young Russell crocked himself that the whole thing really went wrong. Rowson's withdrawal from the midfield left the middle of the park exposed and we were never really in it after that. Sadly young Rachid wasn't up for it on the day and played a part in the loss of more goals.
